G-Technology Announces Mobile and Desktop Professional SSD Storage Options
G-Technology, Western Digital's pro-line storage arm, announced three new series of SSD-based storage solutions for professional editing workflows including a portable SSD in 500 GB and 1 TB capacities, a desktop drive from 960 GB to 7.68 TB capacities, and a larger array in 8 TB and 16 TB capacities.
According to Western Digital, the G-Drive Mobile Pro SSD, G-Drive Pro SSD, and G-Speed Shuttle SSD all run at up to 2,800 MB/s which is fast enough for handling demanding workflows of 4K and 8K content and editing it on the spot.
The single-port bus-powered G-Drive Mobile Pro SSD has a durable, shock-resistant design that uses specially engineered components to endure traveling, with an aluminum core that prevents overheating and maintains a consistent high performance. The dual-port, AC-powered G-Drive Pro SSD desktop drive enables a filmmaker to edit multi-stream 8K footage at a full frame rate, and transfer as much as a terabyte of content in seven minutes or less (for capacities 1TB or larger). The G-Speed Shuttle SSD features 8 removable SSDs that are pre-loaded and configured in RAID 5 is optimized to support multi-stream HD, 4K, 8K, VR and VFX workflows.
The new G-Technology Pro SSDs offer a fast and reliable solution for any creative project team but like any SSDs, they are vulnerable to such defects as electric charges, magnetic fields, and abrupt power loss and have a limited number of writing cycles. Sooner or later, they will wear out, leading to potential data loss. To get back their valuable audio and video files, owners of the G-Drive Mobile Pro SSDs, G-Drive Pro SSDs, and G-Speed Shuttle SSDs will need to contact a reliable data recovery services provider.
