QNAP Launches TL-D800C & TL-R1200CP Enclosure Solutions

QNAP launched two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C JBOD enclosure modelsthat will allow users to be more flexible with storage and file-sharing options. They are the 8-bay desktop model TL-D800C and the 12-bay rackmount with redundant power model – TL-R1200C-RP for PCs, NAS, and servers. The multipurpose TL USB JBOD can be used for expanding a QNAP NAS storage space and also serve as storage for PCs and NAS. The TL USB JBOD is multipurpose and can be used for expanding QNAP NAS storage space. Besides, it can serve as storage for both PCs and NAS. This intuitive and high-efficiency storage expansion option offers users convenient cross-platform file sharing and high flexibility.

Both QNAP enclosure models allow users to set RAID parameters and create a storage pool via the QTS Storage and Snapshots apps if they are used with NAS solutions. The TL-D800C and TL-R1200C-RP can also be used as a NAS external storage device.

Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu users can take advantage of QNAP JBOD Manager desktop utility to quickly get access to important real-time information about the JBOD status, health, fan rotation speed, and learn about available firmware version updates.

The TL-D800C and TL-R1200C-RP package includes one USB Gen 2 Type-C to Type-A cable. Additionally, users can buy USB Gen 2 Type-C to USB Gen 2 Type-C cable for hosts with Type-C interface. Both QNAP enclosure models support remote file transfers. This feature ensures fast and seamless data migration. Thanks to the JBOD enclosure’s plug and play feature, a TL USB JBOD will instantly work with a host device running on the same operating system, even if it is moved to a different location.

Users can also configure each disk as an individual external storage space then use it as a removable drive. The latest TL USB JBOD supports 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA 6 Gbps HDD or SSD. The 12-bay rackmount model offers redundant power supply, which ensures continuous system uptime.

The new QNAP expansion enclosures provide an economical solution for expanding the total storage space and greatly streamline management and maintenance tasks. They offer faster data transfer speed and more capacity than other JBODs on the market, and are compatible with multiple QNAP NAS models, computers, and servers, but, unfortunately, they have a high risk of failure just like other JBODs. If you find yourself in a situation like my wife where her hard drive decided to take a dump and threaten to leave her with the loss of precious files, then I highly recommend you look up ACE Data Recovery.
