Samsung Announces the 860 QVO SSD
Samsung Electronics have unveiled the new SSD – the Samsung 860 QVO – which comes with up to 4TB of storage capacity with high speed and reliability. Built on NAND, High-Density and Multiple Levels (MLC), the new 860 QVO SSD makes terabyte storage capabilities more accessible for a larger number of users.
PC users who are dealing with multi-media content are often required to upgrade the available storage space to improve the experience they have with their computers. The 860 QVO SSD retains the same 2.5″ form factor making it very easy to use in laptop and desktop applications. Samsung says that by offering both high capacity and performance in a single, affordable drive, the 860 QVO eliminates the need to use a combination of an SSD and an HDD for booting and storage.
Featuring sequential read and write speeds of up to 550 megabytes per second (MB/s) and 520 MB/s respectively, the new 860 QVO achieves the same level of performance as the current MLC SSD, thanks to the latest Samsung V-NAND technology 4-bit and MJX controller. The unit has integrated TurboWrite technology, which helps accelerate speeds while maintaining high performance for long periods of time by assigning a portion of the flash to run in SLC mode, and creating a fast cache that absorbs incoming data.
All QVO SSDs come with a static 6GB write cache that doesn't change regardless of conditions, but they also have a larger intelligent write cache of 36-72GB (depending on drive capacity). This intelligent cache dynamically expands and contracts based on the amount of data stored on the drive. This provides impressive performance for inbound writes, but if the drive doesn’t have enough free space the intelligent cache will not be available, leaving users with just 6GB of static cache.
Unlike most SSDs, Samsung 860 QVO features an AES 256-bit hardware encryption engine. It is TCG and Opal 2.0 compliant and also supports the IEEE1667 spec, meaning it can used with Windows BitLocker, too. BitLocker is a big advantage for all users who want good data security and don’t want to lose out on performance.
The new Samsung 860 QVO SSDs will be a good solution for computer users who are looking for affordable drives, but they are also vulnerable to physical and logical failures that may lead to data loss. To get their data back, the proud owners of the 860 QVO SSDs will need a reliable data recovery services provider. ACE Data Recovery team has a vast experience in recovering data from failed SSDs and is ready to help the new 860 QVO SSD owners with their data recovery needs.
