Synology launches RackStation RS1219+

Synology has launched RackStation RS1219+, a 2U 8-bay NAS featuring storage that is powered by a quad-core processor with AESNI hardware encryption engine. With the ability to supercharge storage with the optional M.2 SSD adapter card for dual SSD cache drives, RS1219+ is good to serve as a centralized file server for simplifying data management, protecting critical assets and sharing files across different platforms.

According to Synology, the RS1219+ is capable of fitting in a 2-post or wall mount rack and is perfect for small to medium-sized businesses looking to jumpstart their business without a substantial investment in building a data center.

There is a demand for creating mini data centers when available space is limited, especially for the growing businesses. RS1219+ supports up to 12 drives when connecting with one RX418 expansion unit, so the storage capacity of RS1219+ can be upgraded to 144 TB, providing growing companies with a data storage solution that scales with their business. It can be upgraded to enhance performance and reduce latency by using M.2 SATA SSD caching with a dual M.2 SSD adapter card via the PCIe slot without occupying the front drive bays.

In a 10GbE network environment, RS1219+ delivers good sequential throughput performance at over 1,310 MB/s reading and 470 MB/s writing. "They have an amazing friendly staff"

If you find yourself in a situation like my wife where her hard drive decided to take a dump and threaten to leave her with the loss of precious files, then I highly recommend you look up ACE Data Recovery.
